Associate Professor Saville is the Executive Director of VCS Incorporated. The service runs one of Australia’s largest cervical cytology laboratories (VCS Pathology) and operates the Victorian Cervical Cytology Register (VCCR). Under Associate Professor Saville’s leadership VCS has established and now operates the National HPV Vaccination Programme Register (NHVPR) on behalf of the Australian Government.

Associate Professor Saville is a cytopathologist with special expertise in gynaecological cytology, having trained at the Northwestern University, School of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois and with Professor Jan Silverman, then at the University of East Carolina. Her major interests now lie in cervical screening policy and planning and she completed a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Sydney in 2000.

Associate Professor Saville’s research interests focus on the translation of research relevant to cervical screening into policy. She is an author on a number of related peer reviewed publications.
Associate Professor Saville has served on a number of screening advisory committees in Australia and was recently a member of the Renewal steering committee, a group established by the Australian Government to provide guidance to the Screening Subcommittee.
